GAME: Time to reduce predator numbers
Referencing an article in the April 6, 2025, Press wherein the Idaho Fish and Game Department said it needed to evolve. In my opinion, they would be miles ahead to start a full-scale effort in reducing the predator population by no less than 75 to 80% of the numbers of predators in Idaho. The predator population had been allowed to become considerably larger than the game population. This over balance makes it extremely difficult for the game to maintain a reasonable population.
The department will not admit the wolf hurt our deer and elk population. Look at how the game animals have declined after the wolves were brought into Idaho and in such a short time.
Why the Canadian grey wolf, which is not indigenous to Idaho, was brought into Idaho is a question many residents are asking themselves. It has never made any sense whatsoever to bring in the most aggressive predator in the North American continent to decimate our elk and deer populations.
