IOGA announces Erik Weiseth as new executive director
BOISE — The Idaho Outfitters and Guides Association has announced Erik Weiseth as its new executive director following the departure of Aaron Lieberman, who has stepped into the role of executive director of the America Outdoors Association.
“I’m honored to continue the work Aaron helped lead,” Weiseth said in a press release. “Idaho’s outfitters and guides are not only ambassadors to wild places, but key drivers of our rural economy. I’m committed to advocating for their future and protecting the resources that make our way of life possible.”
Weiseth has over two decades of experience as a rafting guide, outfitter and business leader, along with years of service on IOGA’s board.
IOGA also thanked Lieberman for his leadership. During his time with IOGA, Lieberman "modernized IOGA's operations, expanded its influence, and helped secure significant policy wins," which included "critical liability reform legislation," the press release read.
“Aaron’s leadership has left a lasting impact,” IOGA Board President Jeff Bitton said. “We’re proud to see him step into a national role and excited for the future of IOGA under Erik’s direction.”
