SMC Foundation seeks community support for upcoming golf fundraiser

KELLOGG —  The Shoshone Medical Center Foundation is seeking support for its fundraiser at Pinehurst Golf Course.

The Aug. 14 event will feature a nine-hole golf scramble, along with activities including a “Putt for Prizes” challenge, a silent auction and a 50/50 ticket drawing. Participants will receive a box lunch at registration and appetizers at the conclusion.

The Foundation is inviting support in sponsorship donations, contributions of items for the silent auction, ticket purchases and cash donations.

Proceeds will go toward expanding and improving services in the Respiratory Therapy Department at Shoshone Medical Center. 

Funds will be used to purchase new equipment that provides multiple therapies to help clear airways more efficiently. 

"These improvements are expected to shorten hospital stays and enhance outcomes for patients with both chronic and acute respiratory conditions," a press release said.

The SMC Foundation is dedicated to securing funding that supports the healthcare needs of the Silver Valley by providing equipment, services and education to Shoshone Medical Center and the community it serves. 

Throughout the year, the foundation organizes activities such as free educational lunches, scholarships and health fairs.
