U.S.: Are you ready?

| July 27, 2025 1:00 AM

Starting with FEMA; there’s so much destruction going on throughout our nation. Fortunately, the northwest states haven’t had major flooding, fires, high temperatures and tornados like the other states. You can also include hurricanes on the east coast and gulf states. The Trump administration wants to reform, or maybe get rid of FEMA. In January, Trump said “frankly, FEMA is not good.” Does that mean, the states will take on more of the financial cost?

I don’t need to remind you about USAID. All of the suffering throughout the world, children and adults dying in the tens of thousands a month. USAID was the best bargain any nation would love to have had for “good will,” and we had it. And now, millions in the greatest country in the world, will lose health care for their loved ones. Will the states pick up what the government took away? Ask your congressman, or senator how you’re going to pay for it?

Most of us agree on reducing government waste. But should we eliminate government support for funding our schools and universities? We should do more for our students now and in the future. This puts more pressure on states that are already suffering, affecting the red states more. The states will need to increase taxes to pay for our education, and our children’s education! You’ll see different standards in each state. Education is the best investment we can make!

My question is, what’s more important? Fix FEMA, immigration, health care, education, and save what we have? Both parties need to start working together, instead of blaming each other. The politicians need to get it done!
