CHURCH: Time to stand up, show up
On July 25 Mikyl Swoboda wrote that it’s time to take politics out of faith. I would submit to you that the fact that the faithful have been bullied into silencing themselves and huddling together in their churches and Bible studies, is a big reason for the mess our culture is in.
I believe it’s time for the church, the true church — God’s Ekklesia, to stand up, show up, and speak up. There is a tsunami headed our way, a BILLION-SOUL HARVEST! God is going to need mentors for all those new believers! “Escapism is a ‘Golden Calf’ the church has made for itself,” a quote from Johnny Enlow, but it’s not time for that yet. So roll up your rapture rugs and put them back on the shelf, get outside the four walls of your church and OCCUPY the seven mountains of cultural influence: Family, Education/Science, Business/Finance, Media, Politics/Government, Arts/Entertainment, and Religion. God has called you, Christian, to one of those mountains in your everyday, walking around life, so don’t be afraid to show up and speak up in the arena to which He has called you. Be silent no more!
