LIBRARIES: Efforts appreciated
To the staff of the soon to be formed Inland Northwest Libraries:
Thank you for the work you have done and the work you will be doing in the upcoming months to transition the Cooperative Information Network, the regional library consortium, to Inland Northwest Libraries.
Thank you for complying with the Idaho Children’s School and Library Protection Act (18-1517B) despite the law’s inherent challenges.
Thank you for not engaging in political theater under the guise of meeting the law’s requirements.
Thank you for acting to defend the rights of parents to determine what materials their children may access at libraries.
Thank you for protecting First Amendment rights, specifically the right to read without government interference.
Thank you for ensuring that libraries are a safe way to learn about the worlds that exist outside our bubbles.
Your efforts have not gone unnoticed and are greatly appreciated.
