Hot rods and dogs benefit St. Vincent de Paul
COEUR d'ALENE — Under sunny skies and amid the roar of vintage engines, the Hot Rods n’ Hot Dogs Car Show rolled into Coeur d’Alene on July 19.
The parking lot of the Hayden Furniture Depot on Haycraft Avenue was transformed into a high-octane festival of family fun and charitable giving raising $14,015.
The free community event drew hundreds of guests to enjoy classic hot rods, DJ music and free food and beverages and was hosted by Hayden Furniture Depot.
The day carried a deeper purpose beyond the chrome hoods of the vehicles, however. The event helped raise awareness and support for services at St. Vincent de Paul North Idaho.
"We were thrilled to see families and car enthusiasts come together in the spirit of fun and generosity," said Scott Ferguson, CEO of St. Vincent de Paul North Idaho. "This event wasn’t just about fun and classic cars; it was about hope. Every donation supports local families facing housing instability, veterans in need of services and individuals striving to rebuild their lives."
Steve and Deb Thompson, owners of Hayden Furniture Depot, said they believe in giving back to a community that serves those most in need.
"Hosting this event is one way we can support the vital work they do every day," they said in a press release.
Proceeds will directly support St. Vincent de Paul's vital programs, including its 300-plus units of affordable housing, emergency shelters, the Veterans Services Program and family support services.
“It’s amazing to see people come together, have fun, and know that they’re making a real difference in someone’s life,” Deb Thompson said.
