Kootenai County school districts, nonprofits receive $82K in Future Fund grants
The Idaho Community Foundation announced Monday it is awarding $82,000 in education-focused Idaho Future Fund grants to nonprofits and school districts in North Idaho.
The Idaho Future Fund supports preschool access, public school and library programs, charter schools and supplemental education initiatives for students from preschool through 12th grade.
Kootenai County recipients and programs:
• Growing the STEM: Provides after-school math/STEM programs to 800-plus students in high-need Coeur d’Alene schools
• United Way of North Idaho: Offers monthly child care scholarships to A.L.I.C.E. (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) families across the five northern counties
These awards come at a time of celebration for the Idaho Community Foundation, which recently surpassed $200 million in grants and scholarships to Idaho communities since 1988. To mark this milestone, the foundation is inviting all Idahoans to be part of the $200M Moment: Make More Good Possible campaign.
Through July 30, residents 18 and older can enter for a chance to award a minimum $5,000 grant to a nonprofit doing good in their community. Participants can also contribute to the prize pool or donate to the foundation's regional Forever Idaho Funds to extend the impact.
