'Clover Fire' near Naples 75% contained
NAPLES — Firefighters are making progress battling a 30-acre fire near Naples and have it 75% contained, the Idaho Department of Lands said Monday.
The power in the area has been restored, and residents have been allowed back to their homes. However, “Go” Level evacuation is still in place for Clover Lane residents due to the proximity to the Clover Fire, the release said.
Residents north of Clover Lane up to Sandy Ridge Road between U.S. 95 and Deep Creek Loop are in “Set” evacuation status and should still be prepared to evacuate if conditions change.
Residents north of Sandy Ridge Road for 1 mile are in “Ready” status and should monitor local media and emergency alerts for changes in status. The evacuation shelter at the county fairgrounds has been closed due to the lifting of evacuations.
Winds are expected to be gusty and erratic today with a wind shift occurring in the afternoon to evening from the north/northeast, potentially impacting fire behavior, the release said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The Idaho Department of Lands is battling the fire alongside resources from the U.S. Forest Service, Northside Fire, Montana DNRC, as well as numerous local, contracted and volunteer services.
Resources on the fire include 80 personnel, 10 engines, nine tenders and two excavators.
