Coeur d'Alene man sentenced to prison for lewd conduct with minor
A Coeur d'Alene man was sentenced Thursday to a life prison sentence with parole eligibility after 20 years after a conviction of lewd conduct with a minor under 16.
Richard Allen Lewis, 66, abused a child by inappropriately touching them in October, according to a press release from the Kootenai County Prosecutor's Office.
During the investigation, it was learned that Lewis had previously molested as many as four other children; at least one of which was in the 1980s, the release said.
Lewd conduct with a minor under 16 is a felony punishable by up to life in prison.
Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Art Verharen recommended a life prison sentence with parole eligibility after 20 years.
The sentencing makes Lewis eligible for parole at the age of 80.
