Cd’A man gets prison for meth trafficking
COEUR d’ALENE — A man received a lengthy prison sentence for trafficking methamphetamine, according to the Kootenai County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
First District Judge Lamont Berecz sentenced 58-year-old Jorge L. Pabon-Delgado to 15 years in prison with parole eligibility after five years for the felony offense.
Prosecutors said the charges stem from March 19, when police were investigating reports that Pabon-Delgado was dealing drugs in the Coeur d’Alene area. After police detained Pabon-Delgado, he “dropped a small baggie of meth on the ground,” according to prosecutors.
“Delgado admitted he was on the way to give the meth to someone else,” a news release said.
A search of Pabon-Delgado’s apartment reportedly yielded more methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Pabon-Delgado has multiple past criminal convictions, according to the prosecutor’s office, and was on probation for driving under the influence at the time of his arrest.
