BBB: Why is this OK?
Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill (BBB) has me so troubled that I am awake at 2 a.m.
Headlines in the Coeur d’Alene Press on Saturday, July 5, “Rural Hospitals brace for financial hits or even closure under $1 trillion Medicaid cuts.” Many small, rural hospitals’ budgets are heavily reliant on Medicaid reimbursement. If these small rural hospitals are forced to close, many people would have to seek medical care hours away. Why is this OK?
In a medical emergency, the distance to seek medical care could mean life or death. Why is this OK?
Adults, children and vets with disabilities are going to be negatively impacted by these cuts. Why is this OK?
Seniors in nursing homes are at risk of losing benefits. Why is this OK?
Millions of people will lose health coverage. Why is this OK?
The changes inflicted upon our most vulnerable population is nothing short of cruel. Why is this OK?
Thirty-six states will lose $1 billion or more over 10 years in medical funding under the “BBB.” Why is this OK?
The bill provides tax cuts for the wealthiest on the backs of low to middle income families. Why is this OK?
If I had voted for Trump, I would be feeling betrayed right now … bait and switch. All of our Idaho Republican Congressmen voted for the bill. Are they acting in the best interest of their constituents?
It is time to ask them these questions:
