TRAGEDY: Prayers for family of young man
We all mourn the tragedy that unfolded Sunday, June 29, which cast a stain on our city. My heart aches for the families of the firefighters who were shot and killed, and the firefighter hospitalized with his injuries. I am keeping them all in my prayers.
But there is also another family I am keeping in my thoughts and prayers, and that is of the young man who committed this heinous, senseless crime. I’m sure he had parents, grandparents, maybe siblings who are grieving and mourning their loss too.
We may never know what demons he struggled with, but one thing is for sure, that his parents also lost their beloved son, and they have to live with the knowledge of what he did to cause such harm to others. You may not agree with me, but that is OK, to each his own. I believe that we are each responsible for our own actions, and that young man is solely responsible for his.
I also want to thank the Cd’A Press for putting out a special Monday limited edition the next day to keep us all informed. (I do miss my Monday paper!)
