TRAGEDY: Cd’A stands out

I write from Florida. As one who has visited the Coeur d’Alene area often — in the midst of a major tragedy for the community — I’d like to single out the community for its reaction.

In this day and age of attacks on our first responders, call to defund them and protest with violence — watching the local folk in Coeur d’Alene respond with thanks, delivering water and snacks and praising their first responders is incredibly heartwarming. This IS America at its best.

Thank you, Coeur d’Alene, for standing out as I would have expected — caring, family, taking care of your own. Hats off for the one clear positive in this entire horrid incident. While we marvel at the glorious nature of North Idaho — it is the spirit of those who live here that truly stands out.

You all have our prayers and blessings and hope the community heals quickly.
