Margret Leeveda (Hammons) Evenson
Feb. 28, 1929 — June 13, 2025
Born to Ernest and Annie Hammons in Clarkston, Wash. The family then moved to the Priest River Peninsula when she was 2. Margret graduated from Priest River High School.
She married Carl Evenson on Aug.12, 1947. They lived in Priest River, Pullman and Clark Fork, and in 1959, moved to a small farm in Post Falls. The first thing she did was plant a huge garden and raise a variety of vegetables. Margret was very involved with her children. She was a room mother, a member of the PTA and a 4-H leader for several years. An exceptional seamstress making costumes, school clothes for her children, shirts for her husband, many bridesmaid dresses and even a few wedding dresses.
She worked at KMC, the Forest Service Tree Farm, volunteered for Post Falls Senior Center Meals on Wheels, and helped to form and maintain the Greenferry Water District. A 65-year member of Sons of Norway No. 11, Coeur d’Alene, and belonged to the Post Falls Historical Society.
She has always enjoyed Church, taught Sunday School, and taught herself how to follow services online. She enjoyed music, singing and dancing to it all and sitting outside enjoying her morning tea, listening to the river and birds.
Preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Carl; her parents; and four siblings. Survived by one brother, four children, Annie, Louise, Dennis, and Doug (Lori); nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

English Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements. The Funeral service will be held July 5, 2025, at 11 a.m. in the Calvary Lutheran Church, Post Falls.
