Burke, a junior guard from Coeur d'Alene, was named Big West Conference Player of the Week after scoring a career-high 25 points (on 9-of-9 shooting) and grabbing 11 rebounds in a 77-68 victory at Long Beach State on Saturday. Burke has played in 20 games, starting in 19 for the Gauchos (12-9, 6-5 Big West), and is averaging 9.3 points (third on the team), 6.4 rebounds (first), 2.2 assists (first), 1 steal (T-first) and .5 blocked shots (T-first).
Alex Peters

Peters, a senior from Post Falls High, was named an All-Academic Athlete by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 percent of their respective regional championship meet.
Peters, a biophysics major, finished in 15th place and earned an individual bid to the NCAA Division III championship meet a week later.

Sims, a 6-foot sophomore post from Post Falls High, was named to the Academic All-Great Northwest Athletic Conference team, the school announced.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20, must be in their second season competing for their team, and must have competed on the court during the 2024-25 campaign.
Sims, who has a 3.40 GPA in Law & Justice, has started all 20 games for the Wildcats this season, and is averaging 8.2 points and 7.7 rebounds per game for the Division II program in Ellensburg, Wash.
