TOWN HALL TRIAL: Are we complicit?

I am compelled to acknowledge the six conscientious and civic-minded members of the jury for performing their required duty as U.S. citizens, and dedicating three trial days and eight additional hours of their lives, deliberating and scrutinizing the evidence of the case as it relates to the law...

It would seem, the jurors offered far more due diligence to this case than the Idaho Attorney General’s Office applied when they issued a letter, written by Deputy AG Jeff Nye, exonerating Sheriff Bob from having committed any criminal acts during the town hall meeting on February 22, 2025 at the Coeur d’Alene High School. Furthermore, it was reported that video evidence was shown, where Sheriff Bob and Paul Trouette were restraining the same individual that Mr. Trouette was found guilty of committing battery on during said restraint. This would suggest that our scales of justice are somewhat out of balance, and invites some curiosity as to how the actual victim(s), not to mention the citizenry, must feel when only half of the known perpetrators were found guilty. This doesn’t square, and certainly raises far more questions than it answers about our system of liberty and justice for all.

Or, perhaps I am not being fair to the ‘system’ and it’s more about scruples and the players. In that scenario, and subsequent flowchart, the onus ultimately then comes back to the electorate, or at least it is shared by it.
