Cd'A man arrested on multiple charges
The Coeur d’Alene Police Community Action Team, working alongside Idaho Probation and Parole, arrested a Coeur d'Alene man Thursday for having drugs, firearms and explosives.
Shawn Allen Cline. 52, was taken into custody at his home in the 1900 block of West Fairway Drive, Coeur d'Alene police said in a press release issued late Friday.
Officers located a pipe bomb, several firearms — including a homemade “slam fire” shotgun — along with methamphetamine and marijuana. The Spokane Bomb Squad responded and confirmed the device was an active explosive. They safely rendered the pipe bomb inert and disposed of it, the release said.
Cline was taken into custody and booked into the Kootenai County jail on charges including possession of an explosive device, three counts of felon in possession of a firearm, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and an agent’s warrant, according to the press release.
Cline has an extensive criminal history with multiple prior weapons-related offenses in both Idaho and California, police said. He is an admitted former gang member and is currently on felony probation for firearms violations.
The Coeur d’Alene Police Community Action Team routinely collaborates with Idaho Probation and Parole to ensure offender accountability.
"We appreciate the support of our law enforcement partners, including the Spokane Bomb Squad, whose assistance was critical in safely neutralizing the explosive device and helping keep our community safe," the release said.
