Cd’A police seek jewelry theft suspects

COEUR d’ALENE — Police are seeking three suspects in a grand theft that occurred last month at Cisco’s Gallery on Fourth Street, according to a news release.

The Coeur d’Alene Police Department said the theft occurred Nov. 24 around 12:55 p.m. The suspects, two men and a woman, allegedly removed jewelry from a tray and concealed it in their pockets while the employee who was assisting them bent down behind the counter. 

“Unaware that items that been taken, the employee continued assisting them,” a news release said. “The group then stated they were heading to the bank to retrieve money for the pieces they were interested in and left the store.” 

Police said surveillance footage showed the three suspects pocketing the items while the employee was distracted. 

Authorities described the suspects as a man in his late 50s to early 60s with gray hair and a gray beard, a man in his mid to late 20s with black hair and uneven facial hair and a woman in her late 50s with black hair. All three suspects “appear to be of Latin or Middle Eastern descent,” police said.
