VOUCHERS: Save our schools

| August 31, 2025 1:00 AM

Universal School voucher programs pay any family cash to educate their children in private or home schools. Costs are in addition to public school budgets. Should public funds pay for private schools? These 2025 state voucher programs are expected to be hundred(s) of millions of dollars over budget. (Utah $108M over, Indiana $360M over, Ohio $959M over, Arizona $835M over)

Idaho is headed down this path. Last year, the Legislature passed HB93, a $50 million voucher program. Future costs could reach $339 million OR MORE. Despite nearly 32,000 phone calls opposing the bill, Gov. Little signed it anyway.

Idaho has NO oversight on voucher spending or student’s ability to demonstrate learning. (Other states no accountability vouchers paid for kayaks and amusement park trips.)

These are your tax dollars! Don’t let these programs destroy our public schools and damage students learning.

Attend a SAVE OUR SCHOOLS town hall meeting.
