Post Falls investigation into Chase bathroom fire continues as replacement discussed
POST FALLS — An investigation continues into a fire set at the bathrooms at Chase Fields Sports Complex earlier this year.
The March 31 blaze left the structure a total loss.
Post Falls Parks Director Dave Fair said the damaged structure was removed about two months after the fire.
“We are hoping, planning to rebuild next spring,” Fair said.
Funding operations requests from rollover funds into the 2026 fiscal year for the city are being discussed to use $200,000 to replace the Chase restrooms.
A temporary mobile bathroom stall is on-site until the bathrooms are replaced.
Mark Brantl of the Post Falls Police Department said the department has several suspects.
Potential charges for starting the fire are second-degree arson and malicious injury to property, which are both felonies.
