A1 VETERANS PRESS: Does this sound like someone you know?
Attention “Veteran Press” readers. I am certain you have noticed that at the end of many of our veteran stories and “Did you know” articles, we ended the article with a question. “Does this sound like someone you know?”
We have used this plea for action on hundreds of articles over the past six years. We know that many of the veterans and their family members do not read the newspapers but still need the “Hope and Help” that may come from this new knowledge about the benefits, services available to them and their families because they served.
We have asked the readers to think about the veterans they know and pass on messages.
Over the years, the Veterans Press has told you about the little known or forgotten benefits and services that our veterans have earned with their service to our country. We told them stories of veterans that needed help and found “Help and Hope” when they discovered that they and their families were eligible for medical, mental of financial help.
The Coeur d'Alene/Post Falls Press and the Veterans Press are encouraging you to pass on these messages to someone you know. It may change their lives.
Over the years, we have many incredible stories about your veterans finding hope and help because of one of the stories or “Did you know” articles that they found in the Veterans Press because one of you readers passed on what they learned in one of the editions.
We have stories of a wife who was caring for her disabled veteran husband and discovered the VA would pay her $2,100 per month through one of the little-known VA programs. She got this information from a friend who read about the program in the Veterans Press. She told a friend in California who also applied for and got paid for caring for her 100% disabled husband.
The success stories go on and on but only if you pass the messages of help and hope to someone. So, when we ask “Does this sound like someone you know?” at the end of a veterans story or “Did you know?” article, we are talking to you. We are asking you to help make someone's life better or more bearable.
If you know someone, send them the paper, the article, the digital copy or call them and read it to them.
We encourage readers of the Veterans Press to share information about veterans' benefits and services, highlighting the life-changing impact that passing on stories and knowledge can have. By recounting real examples of veterans and their families finding help through shared articles and word of mouth, we urges readers to continue spreading messages of “Help and Hope” to those who may need it, emphasizing that such actions can profoundly improve lives.
