NOISE: Time to write citations

| August 24, 2025 1:00 AM

I have one question for Chief White. You made a statement in the article about the downtown noise that said “through July 31 we made 230 contacts.” Surely if there was time for a contact there was time to write a citation 230 times. Warnings do nothing. The warning period ended when the ordinance was first passed. Now is the time for citations. Your “only” two traffic officers could write at least 10 citations between the two of them in a day downtown. That would send the message — not 230 warnings.
