Charles and Dolores Ballo 

65th Anniversary

Charles and Dolores Ballo have been married 65 years Aug. 27, 2025. Both were born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y. Charles graduated from St. John's University in 1960, enlisted in the U.S. Army Security Agency, Frankfurt, Germany, after graduation.

After service, they moved to Valley Stream, N.Y., buying their first home. In 1972, they moved to Florida, with two children, Anthony and Dianne, settling in Margate, Fla. They later moved to Parkland, Fla. They spent 35 years in Florida and owned an accounting and insurance office in Pompano Beach, Fla.

Following their children who moved to Sandpoint and Carywood, Charles and Dolores moved to Sandpoint near the adjoining Sandpoint airport. Charles bought his second 1975 Cessna 175 and enjoyed flying in North Idaho.

Living and enjoying Sandpoint, in December 2019, they moved to a 55+ community in Hayden to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren, Jamie and Christian, who now have children of their own.

Charles, although retired, still practices his accounting skills, doing income taxes and is treasurer of his HOA.
