COEUR d'ALENE — A fundraiser for research and support of families affected by Krabbe disease is set for 6 p.m. Saturday in the Shore Room of The Coeur d'Alene Resort.
Organizer Anjee Wavrick and her family lost their 3-year-old son, Connor, to Krabbe disease, a rare and aggressive genetic and neurological disorder, in February. The Wavrick family has since advocated for mandatory newborn screening for the disease in Idaho.
