Rathdrum Masonic Lodge to give away backpacks

RATHDRUM — Members of Masonic Lodge No. 41 will be giving away backpacks stocked with school supplies from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Lodge, 15190 McCartney St.

Members raised enough money through their dunk tank at this year's Rathdrum Days celebration to purchase and fill 220 backpacks.

"We basically hit our goal and tripled last year's total," said Tyler Snyder with Masonic Lodge No. 41.

Many backpacks will be distributed to schools and government programs, but the remainder will be available for kids.

The Lodge asks that kids come in person to pick out their backpacks and supplies in order to prevent the items from being resold online.
