Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announces new Coeur d'Alene stake leadership

The Coeur d'Alene Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints organized its new stake presidency during a special conference Sunday.
Ryan S. Johnson, owner of International Minute Press CDA and an adjunct lecturer for the University of Arizona, has been called the Stake's new president. First counselor is Mark H. Snow, a dentist at Riverstone Dental Care; second counselor is Thomas J. Pearson, owner of Twin Lakes Farm and Ranch.
A stake president oversees church programs in a "geographic subdivision" composed of individual congregations, and "is responsible for helping the members of his stake in their efforts to follow Jesus Christ," a press release read.
The first and second counselors, along with a group of 15 men and women called a stake council, assist the stake president with these duties.
A stake president typically serves for about nine years; the previous stake presidency, President Tyler Morton and counselors Ben Gaby and Peter Johnston, were released during Sunday's conference.
The Coeur d'Alene Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is composed of eight congregations, home to about 3,300 members in total.
