Canopy Village to seek new executive director
COEUR d'ALENE — Canopy Village, formerly Children’s Village, on Tuesday announced a strategic leadership reorganization to strengthen operations.
Currently, the chief executive officer role oversees both Canopy Village Foundation and Canopy Village Program — two separate nonprofit organizations. Moving forward, the position will be divided into two executive director roles, one for each entity.
“In four years as the CEO of two growing nonprofit organizations, I’ve implemented agile business development practices to clarify our mission, increase income strategies, and reform our internal culture,” said Vanessa Moos, current CEO. “Our leadership team is incredibly strong, and now is the right time to welcome new leadership for the program.”
Moos will remain engaged during the leadership transition for Canopy Village and will be moving to a part-time role in the foundation. The foundation’s current director of development, Paul Brown, will continue to lead the foundation.
As the region’s only youth home, Canopy Village provides crisis respite, emergency shelter, residential treatment, and family support services, a press release said.
Primarily funded by the Foundation, Canopy Village recently became a Medicaid provider for Residential Treatment, further diversifying its income sources.
Now operating as both an outpatient behavioral health provider and an inpatient residential treatment facility, the organization is seeking a new executive director to lead the program into its next chapter — expanding services to include youth of all ages.
