KCSO investigating homicide near Hayden Lake

The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office has identified the man found dead Monday afternoon near Hayden Lake.

The victim was Kenneth B. Caldero, 35, a resident of Kootenai County, KCSO said Tuesday. The cause of death remains under investigation and is considered suspicious in nature, said a KCSO press release.

Caldero was found after KCSO deputies responded to the 15000 block of N. Hamlet Trail off of Triangle 7 Road, northeast of Hayden Lake, for a reported unknown medical incident. 

The reporting party told dispatch that he had found an injured male on his property as well as blood on the front porch of his residence. 

The injured male, later identified as Caldero, was found to have sustained traumatic injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
