Vintage pedal car firetruck to fundraise for Red and Blue Foundation
POST FALLS — A restored 1960s AMF pedal car and fire extinguisher are being raffled to benefit firefighting families affected by the Canfield Mountain incident through the Red and Blue Foundation.
Scott Bullock said he was itching to make a difference to help first responder families in the wake of the tragedy and decided to buy the vintage pedal car and find a way to restore it and put it in front of the community as a fundraiser.
“I needed to help but didn’t quite know what that looked like,” Bullock said. “I wanted to do something fun, allow others to get involved and leverage a donation for a maximum impact: find a vintage firetruck pedal car, have it fully restored and raffle it off.”
Body by Scotty did the restoration work on the car, the decals were created by CW Wraps and Signs and Post Falls Chamber of Commerce is facilitating sales of the raffle tickets for $10 each.
The winner will be announced at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 5 at the Post Falls Chamber Community BBQ.
"At Body by Scotty, we believe in honoring those who serve and protect our community. Restoring this vintage pedal car was a labor of love and we're proud to support the Red and Blue Foundation and the families of our fallen firefighters,'' Keith Sorenson said.
President and CEO Post Falls Chamber of Commerce Christina Petit said she was moved by the caring, compassionate and commitment to those who serve that has been pouring out of the community in the wake of the tragedy.
"This raffle is more than just a fun opportunity to win a beautiful vintage firetruck pedal car — it’s a meaningful way to support the Red and Blue Foundation and the incredible work they do for first responders and their families,” Petit said. “We’re honored to help amplify their mission and grateful for the outpouring of support that’s already making an impact."
