'America250' party coming to Idaho

| August 5, 2025 1:00 AM

Idaho is launching the America250 in Idaho Celebration Fund, billed as an opportunity for cities and counties to boost local events and projects in honor of our nation’s founding.

“We all get to be a part of the 250th birthday of this great experiment we call America,” said Idaho Secretary of State Phil McGrane, who serves on the America250 in Idaho Advisory Council. “We want to celebrate in a big way here in the Gem State and make the lead-up to July 4, 2026, an experience to remember.

Cities and counties can apply for up to $2,500 to support America250-related celebrations. Eligible activities include parades, public art, educational exhibits and other events honoring our nation’s history and values.

“This is a rare and meaningful moment in our nation’s history,” said Sen. Ben Adams, a member of the America250 in Idaho Advisory Council. “We want every Idahoan to feel connected and part of something greater.”
