CHURCH: Did not join protest

On Sunday, July 27, three community members and I staged a protest against the war in Gaza that has trapped millions of civilians into a — literal — cage where they are being deliberately starved, designated humanitarian routes bombed, journalists and NGO workers targeted by drone strikes. Where dozens of starving men, women and children are killed by snipers every single day in the most dire, desperate and helpless act of standing in line for food. We held the protest in front of Candlelight Christian Fellowship on U.S. 95 in Hayden, because they have chosen to display an Israeli flag on their reader board since around the time of the start of the war.  

A number of things surprised me about this protest. But the most striking was that not a SINGLE member of the congregation joined in. Some invited us to join their service, but not a single one left the service to join our protest.
