BILLIONAIRES: They are targeting us

The American people have been misled. Those seeking power told us immigrants were coming to our country to harm us, take our jobs, and rob us of benefits — it was a lie, a trick card they played to gain power. Those spreading lies have created division, not unity.

It is the billionaires and those now in power who are coming for us. They are targeting our wallets with high tariffs, which we will have to pay. They are taking food out of children’s mouths by reducing SNAP benefits; an estimated 17 million of our nation’s children and grandchildren will pay with their hunger. Although healthcare saves lives, they remain intent on slashing Medicaid and Medicare; those losing access to care will pay with deteriorating health. Social Security benefits are also in the crosshairs. As seniors’ benefits are targeted and shot to pieces by those in power, they will pay with undeserved poverty and hardship. 

Daily, we face new assaults on our dignity and humanity. Why? It is because the rich and powerful one percent intend to give themselves a raise. Yes, they want to expand welfare for the rich and entrench their power, while 99 percent, including hardworking folks, struggle to get by. Meanwhile, most members of Congress remain mute. 

What can we do in response to these daily assaults? There is a stronger voice: WE THE PEOPLE. United, we have power. We must join groups, movements, attend resistance marches, sign petitions, and write or call our legislative leaders (https://5calls.org). Together, let us work in solidarity to return dignity and power to the people.
