North Idaho DUI Task Force hosts responsible alcohol use seminar

COEUR d’ALENE — The North Idaho DUI Task Force will host a free, interactive class titled “How Much: Understanding Alcohol and Impairment” on May 10 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Coeur d’Alene.

Designed for young adults aged 18-20 and open to the broader community, the session focuses on helping attendees make informed, responsible choices around alcohol use.

Led by Idaho State Police Sgt. Troy Tulleners, the class will explore how alcohol affects the body, why impairment levels vary and how to recognize personal limits.

“How much is too much?” is one of the most frequent questions the task force encounters, and the class aims to break down that complex answer in a relatable way.

“The goal of this class is to provide people with a clearer understanding of how alcohol affects them individually, from that first sip until they are sober again,” said Tulleners. “Through this program, we aim to shift the conversation around impairment, empowering people with knowledge and focusing on responsible decision-making processes."
