COEUR d'ALENE — The Coeur d’Alene Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver of a white Honda Pilot believed to be involved in an injury accident Tuesday.

A driver of a Jeep Liberty told police he was northbound on Fourth Street approaching Spokane Avenue about 3:10 p.m. when a Honda Pilot suddenly turned left and forced him to abruptly swerve to avoid a collision.

Police said the Jeep inadvertently struck a young woman before coming to a stop in the parking lot of Runge Furniture. Police said the woman suffered serious injuries and was taken to Kootenai Health.

"The driver of the Honda Pilot turned into the Runge parking lot immediately after the incident but did not stop," police said.

Anyone with information related to the accident or the identity of the driver of the Honda Pilot is encouraged to contact the Coeur d’Alene Police Department at 208-769-2320.
