James Ingalls, 75

| May 5, 2024 1:00 AM

James "Jim" Ritter Ingalls, 75, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, was united with God on April 10,2024.

Jim was born in Boise, Idaho, on Nov. 10, 1948, to Cordelia Rose (Castleman) Ingalls and Donald Leroy Ingalls.

He graduated from Washington State with a bachelor's in business management and english education. At one time owned a restaurant in Seattle called the Cock and Bull. Jim had many business ventures but always gravitated toward sales. He was a volunteer ski instructor in Colorado, where he also found his love of riding motorcycles.

In 2009, he moved back to Coeur d'Alene to be closer to family and met his wife Laura at a motorcycle fundraiser ride. They married shortly after and spent the next 13 years sharing wonderful memories riding with friends to the Oregon Coast, Sturgis, Southern Idaho, Canada and numerous long rides to Arizona.

Jim loved the art of telling a story. With a spark of mischief in his eyes and a sly grin, he would set you up to know a whopper of a story was coming. It was best to sit back and hear him weave his tale.

He is survived by his three children, Krista Ingalls-McVay, Dawn Banning and Jim Ingalls. His second wife, Melody (Gravely) McDermott and Carrie Lovell Walling. His wife, Laura Ingalls, and three girls, Jessica Boatman-Aaron Boatman, Shawnna Fields-Hale Fields and Kelly Kincella-Daehoe Kim. Five grandchildren, Micah Halland, Liam Fields, Kit Clara Fields, SyRae Boatman and Teak Sun Kim. Sister Judy Curry and her family.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Cordelia (Peggy) Ingalls, and his grandson, Quinn Chastain.

Please join us for a celebration of life at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 506 E. Fifth Ave. in Post Falls, at 2 p.m. May 18. Come with a story to tell.
