| May 3, 2024 1:17 AM

POST FALLS — Lake City’s Mark Holecek broke the game open with a three-run double in the top of the sixth inning as the Timberwolves went on to beat the Post Falls Trojans 16-5 in the completion of an Inland Empire League that was suspended due to darkness on April 23.

Lake City scored once and led 5-4 with one out in the top of the sixth when the game was suspended last week. The T-Wolves scored six in the sixth and six more in the seventh.

Jake Dannenberg and Cooper Smith each had a two-run double in the seventh for Lake City (17-5, 14-4 IEL), which clinched the league title with a sweep of Coeur d’Alene on Thursday.
