Courtesy photo In the 2009 boys bracket of Idaho Youth Soccer Association’s State Cup the Idaho Inferno edged Timbers-North FC in a penalty shootout in the championship game in Boise. Isaac Lowder of the Timbers scored after bending the ball around the wall to the near post off of a free kick to tie the game at 1-1 in the second half. The Thorns-North FC 2007 girls soccer team fell in a penalty-kick shootout in the semifinals of Idaho Youth Soccer Association’s State Cup to Global Sports Academy on Saturday in Boise.
The Thorns team went up midway through the first half after Brooke Gregory slotted home a cross from Sloan Waddell. GSA equalized late in the second half to send the game into overtime.
