Jan. 2, 1933 — March 21, 2024

Harley passed away after a long battle with cancer March 21 while surrounded by his family.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Myra F. (Adams) Mills, his parents, Herbert and Bonnie Mills, and his stepson, David K. Simpson.

He is survived by his stepchildren, Rose (Lonnie) Dixon, Myra (Johnny) Hilton, Linda (Daniel) Breazzeal, Starla Barnhill, Ricky (Paula) Simpson and Twyla (Robert) Sample, along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

Harley was born and raised in Oakland, Calif., where upon graduation from high school, he joined the Navy. After serving his country, he joined his father's printing company, which he worked for and later owned until retirement. He met his bride at church and then took on the challenging yet rewarding task of helping raise her seven children. After losing their home to the devastating Oakland fire in 1991, they moved closer to their children.

Harley loved spending time reading scripture and being in the community with his church family.  His hobbies included flying his model airplanes, collecting stamps, coins, and antique model trains.

A visitation will be held at Bell Tower Funeral Home 3398 E. Jenalan, Post Falls, Idaho, on Thursday, March 28, from 2 to 4 p.m. Private services for the family will be held at a later date.
