Beryl Elizabeth Goudie Williams, 90, of Bayview, Idaho, passed away March 7, 2024, at Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Beryl was born the eldest daughter of Merrill V. and Florence (Roulsten) Goudie in Marysville, Calif. She spent her childhood in the Imperial Valley of California, near the Arizona border, and always called the desert her favorite place!

Beryl attended Chico State College in California, where she met the love of her life, Ruilt E. “Moe” Williams. They were married June 25, 1955. Both she and Moe earned teaching degrees and became educators.

“Mrs. Williams” taught mostly kindergarten in Martinez, Calif., and was dearly loved by many students over her 40-year career! After retiring from teaching in 1995, Beryl volunteered in reading programs in the Martinez area. In the early 2000s, she moved to Visalia, Calif., where she volunteered in the classroom of one of her great-granddaughters. In 2019, Beryl moved to live with her daughter, Vawn, and son-in-law Steve Fishbaugh, in Bayview, Idaho.

Beryl was preceded in death by her beloved husband, “Moe” Williams, and later, her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Vawn (Steve) Fishbaugh, of Bayview, Idaho; sons Rich (Mary) and Ray (Kris) Williams of Martinez, Calif.; her sister, Margaret Lundquist, of Santa Ana, Calif.; two nephews, 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great great grandchildren!

A celebration of life will be held at the Bayview Community Center, Bayview, Idaho, on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 1 p.m. Another service will be held in California at a later date, to be announced.

Beryl will forever be remembered as a beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, teacher and friend. She is often described as “One of the kindest people you could ever meet!”
