COEUR d’ALENE — Hospice of North Idaho is hosting a free public conference at noon April 16 at its community services building at 2290 W. Prairie Ave.

The conference includes three 90-minute education sessions at noon, 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Guests will get information and tools that can help families learn about and prepare advance health care directives as per state law.

"Realizing and honoring patient wants and needs will help families and health care providers determine plans of advance care action," a press release said.

Community booths will also be set up offering resources to guests.

Information about Medicare and other insurance providers will be available. Presenters will share potential legal considerations with guests.

"Hospice hopes to help families facing difficult health care decisions for their loved ones needing advance care," the release said.
