Cd'A woman arrested after standoff
COEUR d'ALENE — A Coeur d’Alene woman was taken into custody following a standoff Wednesday night.
Coeur d’Alene police officers responded to 707 E. Walnut Ave. to execute a search warrant related to an ongoing drug investigation, a press release said.
One of the occupants of the residence, Kari Brouwer, was uncooperative and barricaded inside. Because of her past criminal history, SWAT officers were called to the scene, the release said.
After a short standoff, Brouwer came outside, where she was detained while officers searched the residence and found a large quantity of methamphetamine.
Brouwer, 46, was taken to Kootenai Health to be treated for minor injuries.
The release said that after she is released from Kootenai Health, she will be booked into the Kootenai County jail for three felony counts of delivery of a controlled substance and one felony count of trafficking a controlled substance.
