Emran Restaurant opens downtown Coeur d'Alene

Middle Eastern cuisine is the focus of the new Emran Restaurant at 309 E. Lakeside Ave.

Mehran and Samira (his mother) Mohammadi offer foods from Afghanistan and Central Asia from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday and Mondays for events. About 100 customers can sit at high and low tables and counters with a guest room and catering options. With kabuli, pulau and mix kabob options, food can be ordered ahead for pickup and delivery. Beer and wine beverages will be added later.

Indigo Urgent Care plans Hayden place

A new location for Indigo Urgent Care is under construction at 151 W. Prairie Ave. in Hayden.

With another facility in Coeur d'Alene and more than 40 in Washington state, the urgent care treats a wide variety of minor injuries and illnesses including sore throats, ear infections, allergies, rashes, sprains and minor fractures. Digital X-ray and rapid lab tests are available on site. Online booking is available for same-day or next-day appointments with care from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The new place will open in early 2025. A joint venture between Kootenai Health and Multicare, the clinics include Ryan Fix, Vanessa Varona and Bill Davenport. Check www.indigohealth.com.

Konala eatery opens on Appleway in August

Healthy fast food with protein bowls and salads, a Konala eatery is going to occupy the former Carl's Jr. location at 106 E. Appleway.

With 20 seats inside, an order counter and drive-through, hours will be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Offices and a small gym will be in the former play area. Founders Trace and Jammie Miller also have a place on Spokane Street in Post Falls. Check www.konala.com.

• The annual July 4 holiday cleanup for Tubbs Hill will be 8:30 a.m. to noon July 5. Litter bags, water and treats will be provided at the Third Street entrance by the Tubbs Hill Foundation.

• The Goodwill store on Fourth Street will reopen at 9 a.m. July 8.

• MADD Chicken eatery will open in September at 1520 Government Way (at Hazel Avenue). 

• Wallaroos Furniture is closing at 1823 Fourth St. and combining into its Hayden location.

• A "coming soon" sign for Metro Car Wash is at the Highway 41-Prairie intersection.

• A grand opening for Hayden Lake Eagles RV Park at 1520 W. Wyoming Ave. will be July 13 with food, live music and a ribbon cutting.

• A Boost Espresso coffee shop will be at 1923 Sherman Ave.

• Chili's eatery closed June 26. Something interesting will probably go into the obvious building at 482 W. Sunset between U.S. 95 and Fred Meyer.

• Watch for a major development on property at the intersection of Hanley Avenue and Atlas Road.

• Two new buildings for the Local Markets company will open next year at the intersections of Best Avenue and 15th Street in Coeur d'Alene and Highway 41 and Hope Road in Post Falls. What they will offer will be similar to the existing Local Market at Atlas Road and Seltice Way. The Markets will have an emphasis on produce, fresh flowers, coffee and products sourced from local vendors with fresh-made deli sandwiches and pastry bars and premium espresso coffees with drive-throughs. Owned by Andy Singh, the stores are architecturally designed to fit the local landscapes and surrounding communities. They will include gas and electric car charging.  

• Windermere Realty closed its Post Falls branch. The top level of the building at 1616 E. Seltice Way is leased, and the lower level is available through Don Smock at 208-664-9221.

• Providing innovative emergency medical services and always open, Post Falls ER & Hospital will open in a new building at 497 S. Beck Road in July. Founded and operated by board-certified physicians and Nutex Health Inc., it will offer advanced clinical, pediatrics, imaging and laboratory service with 12 emergency department rooms and five inpatient suites with an onsite laboratory and radiologic suite with high-tech testing capabilities with MRIs, CT scans, X-rays and ultrasounds with same-day scheduling and quick results. • A new building at 4378 W. Selway Ave. in Riverbend Commerce Park will house Lightning Tool & Manufacturing and Dragon Jacket Insulation.

• Hayden Lake Eagles RV Park will open July 13.

• A new building with Riverstone Dental as the major tenant is under construction at Prairie Avenue (1701 W. Prairie) and Ramsey Road. It should open in May with Riverstone Dental in the main level and two large suites available. Riverstone Dental also has locations in Coeur d'Alene and Post Falls offering general dental care. • Watch for Upgrade Labs at 2050 Main St. in Riverstone.

• The complex being built across from Costco on Neider Avenue is for Habitat for Humanity.

• With a summer opening planned, four businesses will occupy the new building under construction at 264 S. Beck Road at State Line. With Garco Construction in charge, the places will be Wendy's, Joint Chiropractic, The Man Shop and probably Capriotti's Sandwich Shop. Project manager is Michael Barr.

• A Fernan Farmers' Market will be noon to 4 p.m. Sundays May 5 to Sept. 29 at Lake Village Lodge at 320 E. Coeur d'Alene Lake Drive. 

• With the groundbreaking for new buildings for Grocery Outlet and 7-Eleven stores, North Point Plaza is being constructed in the northeast corner of Highway 41 and Poleline Avenue. Developer Jordan Wirsz of Corhaven Properties said more announcements for the 7-acre property will be coming soon. Five parcels remain in the development. • A food court project called Eats on Spokane Street is coming soon to property at the corner of Second Avenue and Spokane Street in Post Falls. Located next to Post Falls Brewing Co., it will open in the summer with a shed-roof pavilion with roll-up doors and restaurant tenants of Melfit Healthy Kitchen and Nachos Cantina, an indoor dining space and restrooms. • HeatPraxia, previously at 404 E. Sherman Ave., will be at 1080 E. Lakeshore Drive in September.

• Runge's Furniture at 303 E. Spokane St. is remodeling and will add Trader Joe's in about half the space.

• A new larger building for The Oval Office is under construction on Spokane Street in Post Falls. It should be complete this summer with owner Raci Erdem, general contractor Rob Harsh and architect Mark Latham.

• A proposed Marriott Hotel will be on about a half acre at 602 and 612 E. Sherman Ave. The six-story hotel would include 131 guest rooms, 130 parking stalls among the main level and three levels underground, an administration area, a bar, kitchen, lounge, dining area, meeting area, laundry, fitness room and a rooftop patio bar.

• A new facility for Peak Health and Wellness Center is under construction at 4425 N. Fennecus Road in Post Falls. It will move in August from 927 E. Polston (Suite 101). The new place will include eight indoor and eight outdoor pickleball courts, strength equipment, cardio and group fitness, a kids club, juice bar, pro shop and full locker room.

• The Goodwill store on Fourth Street will reopen in the summer with a $3 million remodel.

• DOMA Coffee Roasting Company will open a cafe in the 3,000-square-foot main floor in the new building off the Centennial Trail at 3091 S. Atlas Road. It includes indoor and outdoor seating with views up and down the river, coffee, tea and local pastries and takeout. Owners Muir and Julia Harrison will open with hours 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily. • The Marcus Anderson building under construction at 8182 N. Wayne Drive in Hayden has commercial units to be occupied by Ascent Counseling and Marcus Anderson Family Foundation (now at 8382 N. • The Thomas George building under construction at Third Street and Front Avenue downtown will be 18 stories. It will comprise 60 condominiums on floors 4-18 with garages, an on-site concierge, a 24-hour gym, golf simulator, indoor-outdoor pool and a lakeview community terrace. • A four-story 151-room Hyatt Place Hotel is planned for the Millworx development on Fourth Avenue in Post Falls.

• Describing it as a "new product vendor mall," Marketplace@Miles is under construction in the southeast corner of Government Way and Miles Avenue in Hayden. • Huetter Business Park, which is three flex industrial and office buildings owned by Etco Services, will open on Huetter Road north of Interstate 90 and Seltice Way.
