Power outages reported after storm passes through

Avista reported there were 17 active power outages Monday morning that affected 2,419 customers after a strong thunderstorm passed through North Idaho. 

Power outages northeast of St. Maries along the St. Joe River were reported Monday afternoon.

According to Avista's website, one outage that started around 8 a.m. was affecting about 27 customers. A smaller outage at the Misty Meadows RV Park briefly affected a few units. Power was briefly out at a number of homes in Benewah County on Monday morning.

About 15 Avista customers in the northeast area of Coeur d'Alene were without power Monday evening.

According to Avista, the cause of the outages is under investigation. The storm bought with it hail, lightning and thunder.
