COEUR d'ALENE — Two devices found in a home near Lakes Middle School that caused a scare Wednesday were not explosives.

"The Spokane County Explosive Disposal Unit was called to the scene and determined the devices were not explosives," a Coeur d'Alene police press release said.

A homeowner in the 1000 block of N. 14th Street found the devices Wednesday morning while sorting through property left by a previous resident.

The homeowner took a picture of the devices and contacted police, the release said. Coeur d'Alene police in turn contacted the Spokane County EDU.

"From the picture provided by the homeowner, the EDU determined the school was a safe distance from the residence and nobody at the school was in danger," the release said.

There are no criminal charges related to this incident, police said.
