Frederick 'Fred' Fielder, 80

| January 10, 2024 1:00 AM

Frederick “Fred” Charles Fielder, 80, of Hayden Lake, Idaho, passed away Dec. 30, 2023, at the Schneidmiller Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Fred was born Oct. 21, 1943, in Grand Island, Neb., to Mark Edward and Doris Ethel (Campbell) Fielder.

Fred attended Creighton University in Omaha, Neb. He joined the U.S. Army and served from 1964 to 1967. He met the love of his life, Deana Radonski, and they were married on the island of Kauai in Hawaii on June 17, 1987.

Fred was an accountant for Herman Weist of Omaha, a corporate controller for Ag Supply, and then a business owner of Fielder Keepsakes from 1990 to the present.

Fred lived in several communities over the years: Grand Island, Neb., Omaha, Neb., Carlsbad, Calif., and Hayden Lake, Idaho.

He enjoyed golf, traveling, reading and following his favorite football team, the Nebraska Cornhuskers. His two goals before dying were to live to be 80 years old and to see the Cornhuskers play in another bowl game!

Fred is survived by his wife, Deana; sons Mark Fielder and Matt Fielder; and stepson Brian Lambert.

The family suggests donations may be made in Fred’s name to the Companions Animal Center, formerly Kootenai Humane Society, (www.companionsanimalcenter.org) or the VA Northwest Health Care.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 15, 2024, at Yates Funeral Home — Hayden Chapel, 373 E. Hayden Ave., Hayden, ID 83835 with a reception to follow. Please visit Fred’s online memorial and sign his guestbook at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
