Equipment upgrades coming for Post Falls council chambers
POST FALLS — A new digital control system is being added to the Post Falls council chambers.
Over the last few months, some City Council meetings were paused in order to remedy audio issues.
"The existing system is challenging to maintain as many of the parts are obsolete and the original installer has retired," said Public Works Director John Beacham.
The new system allows for software to control volumes, which will replace a system of mixer panels and physical cables.
This project also includes a media control processor that can serve the entire building. The city is also adding microphones, speakers and screens to the new conference room on the second floor to allow for public meetings.
The control system will allow the two systems to interact in case overflow space is needed for large meetings.
System upgrades are expected to be completed next week.
