Paul Bunyan Days kicks off today in St. Maries

ST. MARIES — The four-day Paul Bunyan Days celebration kicks off in St. Maries today.
Paul Bunyan Days has been a Labor Day weekend tradition since 1968, and over 27,000 people are expected to attend this year, according to the event's website. The festival will feature local vendors, a carnival and live music each day.
The event also features the "Blue Ox Biggest Topless Bar" — "but you'll need to keep your clothes on," the website reads. "This bar is only topless because it has no roof!"
Today features the doll and pet parade at 5 p.m., which is open to children 3-12. Saturday's events include the Junior Olympics, the Karen Ebert Memorial 5K and the "Crash for Cash" Demo Derby. An auction will take place Sunday at noon and logging events and fireworks will follow in the afternoon and evening. The Labor Day Parade will make its way through St. Maries at 10 a.m. Monday.
