Grove in hunt in bid to return to PGA Championship

FRISCO, Texas — North Idaho College men’s and women’s golf coach Russell Grove is tied for 12th at the midway point of the 2024 PGA Professional Championship at Fields Ranch at PGA Frisco.

Grove is at 2 under par 142, after shooting 70 on Sunday at the Fields Ranch West Course, and an even-par 72 on Monday on the Fields Ranch East Course.

The 72-hole tournament continues today and concludes Wednesday.

Grove is in a nine-way tie for 12th. The second round was suspended due to darkness, with the leader at 8 under.

The top 20 finishers qualify for the PGA Championship May 16-19 at Valhalla Golf Course in Louisville, Ky. At this tournament last year, Grove qualified for the PGA Championship for the first time.


Idaho women's basketball coach leaves after one season

MOSCOW — Idaho women's basketball coach Carrie Eighmey is leaving the Vandals after one season to accept the same position at the University of South Dakota, Idaho officials confirmed to KREM-2 on Monday.

Eighmey guided the Vandals to a 15-16 record in her only season in Moscow.

She spent the previous eight years at Nebraska-Kearney where she led the Lopers to three consecutive NCAA Division II tournaments, including a Sweet 16 appearance.

Among the transfers Eighmey recruited to Moscow following the season included Tyler McCliment-Call, most recently at Stephen F. Austin and formerly of Post Falls High and University High.
