COEUR d’ALENE — Community members with family law questions can get free advice from local lawyers and law students next week at a Law Day clinic.

Law Day is 8 a.m. to noon May 1 at 2433 W. John Loop Road in Coeur d’Alene, in the community center at the center of the Riverstone apartment complex. The clinic is designed to help people get answers to legal questions and help with legal forms involving matters such as child custody, visitation, support and property or debt issues.

“Those cases are important and deserve a lot of attention,” said First District Judge Mayli Walsh. “This is really a means by which to provide focus on that.”

In the afternoon, eighth-grade civic students from Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy will attend a panel discussion featuring prosecutors, public defenders, judges, probation officers and other court staff. Students can ask questions of panelists.

“It’s a day of education and celebration,” Walsh said.
